Steam narrow gauge railway at Blaenau ffestiniog (25 miles), miniature railway at Fairbourne

(9 miles).

 

Centre for Alternative Technology at Corris (13 miles).

 

Bird watching at Penmaenpool observation and information centre. Red Kite centre at Llangurig.

 

Golf– Dolgellau (500 metres), Harlech (20 miles), Aberdovey (24 miles).

 

Fishing – Mawddach estuary, lake fishing at Llyn Cynwch (permits available in Dolgellau), Tal–y–Llyn Lake and Bala Lake.

 

Leisure centres – Dolgellau (2 miles), Barmouth (7 miles), Machynlleth (18 miles), Bala (20 miles), Harlech (20 miles) and Tywyn (20 miles) both have full length swimming pools.

 

Walking – There are numerous walks of varying lengths and grades including the climb to the top of Cader Idris, the second highest mountain in Wales. Information can be provided on request.

 

There are tourist information centres located in Dolgellau and Barmouth.

Cycling route also along the Mawddach estuary from Dolgellau to Barmouth along a disused railway line.

Horse riding near Devils bridge, Aberystwyth (40miles)
